Real Time

SYSTEMS

LCRS

The Legacy Computer Replacement System (LCRS) replaces SEL/Gould/Encore computers with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and software and runs the legacy code without any modification, with 100% code compatibility and much higher performance, at a fraction of the cost and risk of a traditional migration.

Real Time Environment (RTE)

The Real Time Environment (RTE) combines real-time option PCI modules (RTOM) with real-time executive extensions. Together with a POSIX (Portable Operating System Interface) compliant operating system, it forms a complete support package that allows the software engineer to:

  • control when each action occurs;
  • associate actions with time-based triggers;
  • schedule multiple tasks in a priority-based FIFO queue, ensuring precise and efficient execution of critical real-time tasks.

OPTIONS

Reflective Memory System (RMS)

PCI-based reflective memory (PCI-RMS) is a high-performance distributed memory system for multiprocessor environments. It provides deterministic, high-speed connectivity between systems, continuing the tradition of reflective memory and memory channel interconnect technologies.

GPIO-HSD II

The General Purpose Input/Output – High-Speed Device (GPIO-HSD) provides a complete 32-bit parallel interface for customer-designed devices, at rates of up to 2.15 million transfers per second.

The board connects to the host computer through PCI and includes a 32-bit bidirectional data bus, internal registers for data exchange with the customer device, and a local microprocessor that controls internal data flow, PCI bus traffic and external I/O handshaking. The Intercomputer Bus Link (IBL) mode connects two GPIO-HSD boards for high-speed communication between systems.

PCI-ADI

The PCI-ADI (analog and digital interface for PCI) is an easy-to-install commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution that replaces the legacy system’s SelBUS ADI board. It connects a PCI-based host to one or more RTP Corporation analog and digital subsystems.

LCRS Development Solution

There are two LCRS-based software development configurations, sized for each need:

  • LCRS Development Environment (LCRS-DEV-E): a complete development and support configuration, with deterministic, low-latency performance, Real Time Environment and RTOM included, a separate (via reflective memory) or embedded (on a multi-core CPU) DRTX Linux node and deterministic I/O, for complex, mission-critical programs;
  • LCRS Development Structure (LCRS-DEV-S): a reduced configuration, for code validation when real-time performance is not required.

Both include Linux source code management software. For more information, please contact us.

Secure LCRS

Computer systems used in defense environments must meet Information Assurance requirements. To that end, the Secure Legacy Computer Replacement System (S-LCRS) can be added to any existing or future LCRS configuration.
