Simulation
The technology behind FSS simulators
In partnership with Compro, FSS develops the platform behind its training devices: the simulation environment, image generation, radar simulation and the cockpit interface.

MUSE – Modular Universal Simulation Environment
MUSE is the simulator development and real-time simulation environment on which FSS devices are built. It was designed to reuse platform and mission system models across fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, UAVs, ground vehicles and vessels.
From the visual database to instruments, panels and controls, each MUSE simulation is configured to the customer's training requirements, in military and commercial applications.

MuseIG
MuseIG is the image generator of the MUSE platform, built for flight simulation. It renders in real time the out-the-window view and the aircraft sensor imagery, on different operating systems.
Its modular architecture lets each application use only the features it needs (atmosphere and clouds, ocean, vegetation, night lighting, infrared sensors and multi-display projection) and integrate with other simulators through the CIGI and DIS standards.

Radar Toolkit (RTK)
Radar Toolkit is a software development kit (SDK) for radar simulation and radar image generation applications. RTK models, at the energy level, the interaction between the transmitted signal and the simulated environment.
Built from the radar's physical components, it enables rapid prototyping of radar systems and modes, with terrain clutter, weather, aircraft, ships and ground vehicles interacting realistically.

IRIS
Developed by FSS, IRIS is the system that connects the simulation computer to the cockpit panels, switches, lamps and instruments.
Compact and modular, it combines different board types to suit each cockpit, using modern, readily available components that simplify installation and maintenance.

On this foundation, FSS delivers training devices tailored to each need.
Flight Training Device (FTD)
A flight training device that represents the instruments, equipment, panels and controls of an aircraft cockpit in an approximate spatial layout. It does not require a motion platform or a visual system. It is qualified at different levels, according to the simulated systems and the desired simulation fidelity.

High-fidelity, high-performance training at a fraction of the cost of devices that use real avionics. Controls and displays are driven by simulations of the aircraft systems, autopilot and navigation instruments, responding precisely to pilot inputs.

A device for training selected tasks, simulating in real time flight performance, switch configuration, operating modes and display systems. A cost-effective way to train pilots on avionics, weapon systems or maintenance procedures.
